CRANS is an association of students living in Cachan (France) near Paris on the campus of the ENS de Cachan. CRANS stands for Cachan Reseau @ Normale Sup' and its aim is, on the one hand to provide a connection to our network to the residents of the campus and, through it, to the Internet and on the other hand to promote Free Software. With more than 800 members each year, CRANS tries to manage its network as best as possible. Each year, many new projects are proposed to the members. Recently, tv multicast and secured wifi connection were lead to life thanks to projects like VideoLan or OpenWrt. In a complement to that deployment of new technologies, CRANS organize each year, at least one [http://www.install-party.ens-cachan.fr install-party] in order to let people discover free software and let them switch their operating system. CRANS does provide some services to the rest of the world, like an official mirror of [http://www.videolan.org VideoLan], with the collaboration of [http://via.ecp.fr VIA] another student association in France, or the project MuMuDvb. In a complement to that, for three years, CRANS has tried to fund some important projects essential to our association. So we have already funded projects like, FSF, Debian, OpenWrt, and OpenBsd
